Sen'ra Tayuun

Appearance

Short red hair frames an angular face, his eyes shining like a winter sky. His skin is dusky as only a child of the moon could be, blemished with scars that appear too deliberate to be gotten in the trials of youth.Sen'ra's right eye is marred by a vertical scar that bisects his eyebrow, though no damage seems apparent to the eye itself. There is a similar slash along his left cheek and another vertical scar at the corner of his mouth, seemingly from the same weapon, all faded with age. Hidden under his hair is an intricate brand on the right side of his face that he endeavors to keep out of sight. Just above the brand, at the outer corner of his right eye is a white tattoo, reminiscent of a flower in bloom.All these marks pale in comparison to the massive coiling scars that spread across his chest, wrap around his arms and stretch all the way to his extremities. These scars do not seem to be made by any weapon or caused by a severe injury, appearing almost as if they were burns of some kind. The tangling track of scars that wrap around his body are oddly similar to the scars that choking vines would leave behind.Though he can rarely be found in garments of Hingan fashion, loose fabrics that obscure his physique, he possesses the figure of a man that works for a living with toned muscles and a trim form. Of late, he's gone back to fashion more common in La Noscea, with loose-fitting shirts and sashes that cinch the waist.

Mannerisms & Speech

Generally mild-mannered, his voice and poise are regal, elegant and fluid with a warrior's tact and a dancer's grace. While his gaze seems far from inviting, he presents himself cordially to strangers and companions alike, with little variety between the two.There is a slight accent to his stuttered speech, a soft roll of his R's, though nothing strong enough to distinguish a dialect beyond the characteristic Keeper articulation.

Background

The Tayuun clan of the Valley, tucked deep within the northern reaches of the Black Shroud, possessed little rapport with Gridania and the rest of the forest. Known as little more than a xenophobic group of Keepers, poaching was the least of their offenses. The darkened wood hid the sordid haven of crime that took the values of the Keepers and stretched it to the extremes, behaving as more of a mob than a family. Murder and extortion, blackmail and bribery, these were common occurrences among their ilk.He eventually won free from the Tayuun's yoke and found a temporary home within Gridania, a place where he was confident his family would not dare to follow, as Wood Wailers were no friends to a clan of poachers.He studied conjury for a time before departing the Black Shroud for La Noscea. It was there that he made his first home since departing the deep wood, upon the dark waters of the west.Sen'ra currently leads a small crew of 'reformed' pirates and mercenaries, The Steelgrin Sirens, and is patron to a bathhouse in southern Shirogane called The Auspicious Fish.
